The School of Business offers a range of undergraduate programs, including the unique opportunity to major in business analytics;  an option available exclusively at our Malaysian campus. Monash business degrees offer valuable insight into business environments and train future business leaders to deal with real-world problems in real-life situations.

Engineering

At Monash University, we open your eyes to a world of knowledge outside the classroom. The Monash Bachelor of Engineering degree offers an education that is well-known in the industry for its integration of practical, hands-on training and theoretical learning.

Because you might be unsure of which engineering field to pursue, we have developed a common first year, which allows you to choose an engineering specialisation in your second year. This gives you time to decide which major to pursue from the following six on offer:

  • civil engineering
  • chemical engineering
  • electrical and computer systems engineering
  • materials engineering
  • mechanical engineering
  • robotics and mechatronics engineering
  • software engineering

Information Technology

Our courses

You may be interested in our Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honours) program (which is in collaboration with School of Engineering).

Information technology is revolutionising the way we communicate, conduct business and relax. A degree in IT offers a wealth of career opportunities, attractive salary packages, and flexibility. Best of all, you don’t need a background in science to apply for a bachelor’s degree.

Our common core units will give you a solid foundation in the key areas of computing and information technology. As you progress in your degree, you have the choice of selected units that will give you the confidence to specialise in a specific area of interest.

Industry links and internships

Our Industry-Based Learning (IBL) program commenced at the campus in 2013. High-achieving IT undergraduates may apply for a place in the program, which involves a scholarship and a 22-week industry placement during the third year of the degree. The placement is part of the curriculum and is formally assessed and credited towards the degree in information technology.

Students also undertake vacation employment during holiday periods. We receive a number of approaches throughout the year from employers interested in recruiting our students for internships within the field of information technology. These opportunities are publicised to all students of the school.

Medicine and Health Sciences

Our courses

Our school offers in-demand courses such as the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine (BMedSc/MD) and Bachelor of Psychology and Business. With a strong international reputation, we continue to form new alliances with top universities around the world.

The Medicine program is designed to produce highly competent doctors. They are patient-centred, work-ready professionals, who are reflective, compassionate and committed to lifelong learning. The course provides a similar learning experience to the equivalent courses, offered at Monash’s  Australian campuses, and the selection criteria, learning objectives and assessment are the same.

Bachelor of Psychology and Business and the Honours degree of Bachelor of Psychological Science provide students with the tools to succeed in a business environment by giving them a thorough understanding of business principles, and human behaviour and thought processes.

Pharmacy

Our courses

Our Bachelor of Pharmacy degree replicates the highly regarded program, delivered by the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Monash’s Parkville campus in Melbourne, Australia.

The course makes use of the latest teaching methods and technology and offers students many opportunities to practise their clinical skills at government hospitals and community polyclinics on their way to becoming qualified pharmacists, who are in demand in Malaysia.

The course has the support of local pharmaceutical companies, which have provided student awards and internship opportunities to many of our talented students.

And after completing two years of study in Malaysia, you have the opportunity to transfer to the Australian campus for the remainder of the course if you meet the requirements.

The Bachelor of Science at Monash offers you choice. Depending on your background, you can complete a generic science degree, where you tailor your own course of study by selecting the units that suit your interest. Students also have the option of pursuing our prestigious honours program and undertaking independent research under the guidance of a world expert in their area of expertise.
